hte best part abuot writin is
when you get to be creative. The wurst part is hafting to
do spellin and gramer.
If you want to be a writer, you already have
the necessary ingredients: creativity, drive, inspiration,
ideas... Those are the hard things. They can't be learned,
but they come naturally to those of us who call ourselves
writers—we hope. But these tools are useless if you
can't get your point across clearly and consicely. Fortunately,
grammar, punctuation and spelling can be learned, but
those are just the first steps to learning your craft.
Do you know about point ofpiew? What about style
and voice? How often can you use the word very, exclaimation
points, "ly" words and "to be" verbs?
What do you know about action and dialogue tags? How do you
handle flashbacks? What about trademarks and song lyrics?
You thought I was going to tell you, didn't
you? No, I had to find out on my own and you do, too. The
answers aren't hard to find. Just ask, read, learn. No matter
how much success you find in the writing business, there will
always be more to learn.
Okay, I'll at least point you in the
right direction:
